Agreement

These terms govern your use of décode, an app built and operated by Innolab (“we”, “us”). By using décode, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please don’t use the app.

The app

décode reads product ingredient labels, decodes them against a skin profile you provide, and lets you keep a private journal of how your skin responds. It works on your device without an account, as described in the privacy policy.

This is not medical advice

décode is an educational and journalling tool. It is not a medical device, and using it does not create a medical, dermatological, or professional relationship between you and us. Ingredient information, skin checks, and insights are general information, may be incomplete or inaccurate for your situation, and cannot account for your individual circumstances.

Decisions about what to use on your skin are yours. For any concern about your skin or health — including a reaction, a condition, or a persistent problem — consult a qualified physician or dermatologist, and do not delay seeking advice because of anything in the app. Always follow the directions and warnings on a product’s own packaging.

Your content

The profile and journal entries you create are yours. They are stored on your device, we claim no ownership of them, and we cannot access them. You are responsible for keeping your own copies of anything you want to retain — deleting the app deletes the on-device data.

Acceptable use

Don’t misuse décode: no attempting to break, overload, or reverse engineer it, no using it for anything unlawful, and no interfering with other people’s use of it.

Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, décode is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. We don’t warrant that the app will meet your requirements, produce any particular outcome, or that any ingredient data is accurate or complete. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from its use.

Apple App Store

Your license to use décode is a non-transferable license to use it on an Apple device you own or control, as permitted by the App Store’s terms. This agreement is between you and Innolab, not Apple; Apple has no obligation to support the app, and Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Hong Kong SAR. If you are a consumer, you keep the benefit of any mandatory protections of the law where you live.

Changes

If these terms change materially, we will update the effective date above.
